HAPPY MIND = HAPPY BODY


As a Board certified Immunologist that has studied the immune system for several years these are my 5 tips to a mind body balance…

1 -“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” – In other words stay POSITIVE in adversity. Keep HOPE and stay strong! Have resilience and say “YES I CAN” to conquer any disease/illness!

 

2 -Exercise regularly – MOTIVATE and PUSH yourself. Exercise not only helps you physically, but it also boosts your mental wellbeing. It increases your endorphin and serotonin levels which makes you feel more positive, getting rid of depression, anxiety, and stress.

3 -Stick to a balanced diet. Eat a nutritious diet with vitamins and minerals. “Eat the rainbow” by eating colorful fruits and vegetables that are red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Drink lots of water all day. Avoid Caffeine. With all this you will have MORE ENERGY and FEEL less sluggish. It will help you stay positive, and focused.

 

4 – Establish good sleep habits. WAKE UP WITH THE SUN! Waking up with sun is very important for our circadian rhythm and can improve our overall health, mood, and energy levels. A proper sleep routine will allow concentration, memory, and judgement to be on track.

5 – Keep a balanced schedule- selfcare is essential! So listen to your favorite tune, have a cup of chai, go fishing, swim in the lake, dance in the rain, read a book, go for a walk outdoors, and “YOU DO YOU”…pick up a hobby that you love!
